What monks can teach us about serenity.

You can work to gain serenity with some simple steps.

Patience – Every change needs a lot of nurturing and patience. Just like watching a child walk for the first time, they keep trying until they can stand and then run. Be patient with yourself.

Practice – is when we allow ourselves to let go of the day’s events, clear our minds of unrest and doubt. Let the day fly out of your mind like a butterfly flying in the wind. You let it flutter out and away leaving you with a blank slate. keep at it until you can achieve it with ease and Grace.

Time – is what it will take to become present in the moment. Allowing yourself the time to release taking in several deep breaths. With each breath you breathe in you fill your lungs with renewed energy and each breath you let out you release each thought or vision that does not serve you.

Simply stay in this still state for as long as you can. Not thinking of anything, just being present. Hearing yourself breath. Listen to the rhythm of your heart beat as it slows down to a milder pace.

By taking the time to simply be still each day you allow your mind to reset. You allow your body to relax and you find an inner peace as it envelopes you like a warm blanket. Now you can gain serenity as you practice this each day.

Here’s to your peace of mind.

Namaste,
