Reclaim Your Power: A Sacred Return to Your Truth

By Doris Muna, Dorothea Healing

Have you ever felt like a part of you has gone missing? Like somewhere along the way, you handed over pieces of your light—sometimes without even realizing it?

You are not alone.

So many of us have been conditioned to suppress our truth, silence our intuition, and abandon our needs in order to be accepted or avoid conflict. From early childhood messaging to the subtle (and not-so-subtle) pressures of society, we are taught to be “nice,” agreeable, selfless—often at the expense of our own energy and personal truth.

But here’s what I want you to know: Your power has never truly left you. It’s simply been buried under layers of programming, pain, and protection. And now—it’s time to reclaim it.

How We Lose Touch with Our Power

Power loss doesn’t always come from dramatic events. Sometimes, it’s death by a thousand energetic paper cuts:

  • Saying “yes” when you mean “no.”
  • Dimming your light to make others feel comfortable.
  • Absorbing guilt or shame that was never yours to carry.
  • Abandoning your inner voice to chase external validation.

Energetically, these patterns create leaks—draining our life force and disconnecting us from our divine center. In energy healing, we call this fragmentation—when parts of your energy are left behind in past experiences or given away to people or systems that don’t serve your highest good.

A 2021 study by the American Psychological Association showed that nearly 70% of women report putting others’ needs above their own to avoid conflict. That may seem selfless on the surface—but over time, it creates deep emotional depletion and confusion about who we really are.

3 Steps to Take Your Energy Back

  1. Get Honest with Yourself.
What relationships, roles, or responsibilities are draining your energy right now?
Sit with this question. Journal with it. Let your truth rise without judgment. Sometimes there is no straight answer. Our lives are complicated and so are the lives of everyone around us. A family has many facets, more so our society. Awareness is the first step to freedom.
  2. Call Your Power Back.
A simple but powerful daily practice:
“I now call back all of my energy that I’ve given away—consciously or unconsciously. I release what no longer serves me. I reclaim my light, my truth, and my wholeness.”
You can place your hands over your heart as you say this. Feel it. Mean it. It works.
  3. Set Loving Boundaries.
Boundaries are not walls—they are sacred containers for your energy. Practice saying:
  • “That doesn’t work for me.”
  • “I need time to think about this.”
  • “No, thank you.”

It may feel uncomfortable at first, especially if you’re used to people-pleasing. I go back to the first point earlier of being honest with yourself.  Analyze the reasons for the discomfort: are you tired physically, emotionally, don’t care for the suggested activity, would rather have alone time to cope with your challenges? You are not alone, there is always help if you should need it.

Discomfort is a sign of growth—not failure.

A Ritual to Realign with Your Sovereignty / power

Try this simple Realignment Ritual at sunrise or sunset:

  1. Sit in stillness. some people like to Light a candle to enhance that experience.
  2. Place both hands on your navel.
  3. Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
  4. Whisper this affirmation:
“I am whole. I am worthy. I am powerful beyond measure. I choose myself.”
  5. Visualize pure white light pouring through you, reconnecting all parts of your being.

You Were Never Meant to Be Small

Dear soul, you were never meant to play small, shrink yourself, or live in fear of your own light. Reclaiming your power is not about becoming someone new—it’s about remembering who you’ve always been.

And I am here, walking with you on this sacred journey.

With all my love and light,
Doris
